The English Graded Readers (GR) e-book was developed to facilitate students’ Extensive Reading (ER) while simultaneously promoting cultural awareness. By integrating stories and themes from East Kalimantan culture, the e-book not only enhances linguistic competence but also introduces learners to local traditions, thereby linking language learning with cultural identity.

A key feature of this resource is its leveled design, which allows students to select texts suited to their proficiency and gradually progress to more complex reading. This graded structure supports learner autonomy, reduces anxiety, and sustains motivation, which are essential principles of ER. To further assist comprehension, the e-book provides a glossary of difficult words with translations and phonetic transcriptions. This feature minimizes reliance on external dictionaries and encourages incidental vocabulary acquisition within the reading process.

The e-book is accessible in both print and digital formats. While the print version supports classroom-based use, the digital version promotes flexibility, enabling students to read anytime and anywhere. Such accessibility fosters independent learning and aligns with current educational technology practices, particularly in contexts that require remote or blended learning.
